Whatever happened to recieving contact updates?

One thing that I always used in Messenger 8 has been the receive contacts updates function to download my contacts names and locations etc, great to keep up-to-date and organized with your friends and family (if they keep their profile up to date that is)

However after installing Windows Live Messenger 8.1, I can no longer see the receive contacts updates option anywhere! Where has it gone? Has it been enabled by default for all contacts thus no need for the option box anymore? Was it stolen and exploded by Xenu?!!1!?

And just for a self plug; I finished my animated music video, it can be found on Youtube (link below) I hope you enjoy it.

I think someone really wanted a shameless plug . I hated that feature anyway.
