Send messages through Messenger using PHP
Posted by absorbation on Tue 17 Jul 2007 (22:26 GMT)

Amongst useful tools we all use for Messenger, there are not many open-source scripts for us to play which are online based. sendMsg is a PHP script which connects to the Messenger server and allows you to grab contacts and even send them messages.

What is useful about this is you can create simple login forms, or even build upon it to create a feature rich web messenger. You can view a test of sendMsg here, or download the source code here. It is something that isn't practical for use, but to the right person this could be very useful. What I would love is a very simple, open-source web messenger, one that could be hosted on many websites.

For anyone interested, here is a open-source AJAX IM client, it just uses its own system. It could be tweaked to use Microsoft's though:

I have to admit, I may be tempted to have a bash at making an actual web-messenger based on AJAX and this piece of software later.

Nice find Absorbation .
