Windows Live Messenger phones

You may have heard of the Windows Live Messenger Phones around when Bill Gates announced them around the time of January 2006. One was said to be designed by Phillips and the other by Uniden. Back then we really didn't know much about these WLM Phones, and even their release dates (I couldn't wait :D).

Yet some light has been shun. Some features of these phones include the ability to chat with your Windows Live Contacts over the Internet using VoIP technology, download your Contact List, your contact's status, and even receive notifications of new e-mails in your inbox. These phones will have all the features of a normal phone including ring tones, caller ID, and speaker phone.

The WIN1200A model by Uniden now has a release date witch is set in June 2006 and will be available in Canada (and USA most likely). This all sounds great and very useful but many people may be wondering how much this kind of phone will cost. The phone will cost $199.99 MSRP* Canadian Dollars and $175 MSRP* US Dollars. No word from the Philips WLM Phone yet.

This all really sounds great and when this comes out I will be sure to pick one up!

*MSRP = Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price

Why not just make a converter box for a regular phone that just hooks up to the mic and headphone jacks of your computer? I did, and it cost me 5 dollars. Not 200. Works great too!
