After almost a year of no updates, you can now get back in action with the new MessPatch Light: integrated into the website (for all of you popuphobic messers) and updated to work with the new beta (build 14.0.5027.908) released just a couple of days ago.
So what's new you ask?
- Updated to work with Windows Live Messenger 14.0.5027.908.
- Added "Remove partner links" option for versions 8.5.x and 9.0.x.
- Fixed "Disable Windows Live Spaces Integration" for all versions.
Big daddy Mess Patch is being impeded by some restrictions introduced in the new release, meanwhile you can get your patch on with the new MessPatch Light (also known as messy-poo;))
PS: As a side effect of the aforementioned "restrictions", MessPatch Light will not remove the advertisement banner from the contact list. The text advertisement in the conversation windows however, is unaffected.

Our guide to patching Messenger
It basically allows you to patch Messenger from your web browser, it is simple, easy and saves time. It may be early days yet, but it does have potential. Unfortunately mess.be have failed to provide a permalink to the website, but it is on the left hand side of the home page.
Our guide to patching MessengerI also don't use skins, they just seem to have lost that edge that used to attract me (I was really into them when MSN Messenger was popular). All I use is a patch to remove unwanted features from the design of the program. That patch used to be A-Patch, but this week I have used Mess Patch, and I think I prefer it.
I've been using A-Patch for a while now, and I've missed the huge update Mess Patch experienced. It now contains a variety of new features, and some of them are very interesting and unique. One thing that caught my eye was the Translucent Dashboard feature, which basically gives the dark top of Windows Live Messenger a new clean look (see image at the bottom of this post).
I can still change all my favourite options (with one or two exceptions) and there is even a setting to bring back an old feature MSN Messenger used to have: Thumbed display pictures on the contact list! That feature was H-O-T, I remember it received a lot of attention when it was first integrated, in fact I still don't know why it was removed.
I suggest giving Mess Patch a go, it has become so much sleeker and more customisable recently, and it now beats A-Patch in my view.
