See what your contacts listen to with Music Logger Plus

Music Logger Plus logs your contact's now playing music and keeps an extensive log which you can view whenever you want. It's perfect for embarrassing your friends with the evidence of what music they are listening to and how many times they have played it.

It used to be a plugin for Messenger Plus! but recently it has become a script for Messenger Plus! Live. Again this is a simple idea which works. Over time a detailed log will build up and give you an idea of your contact's taste in music. A great feature is you can export all the data to a HTML file, and show your friends what they listen to.

The script isn't perfect, it doesn't take into account when media players change the string patterns and therefore some contact's data comes out inaccurate. Despite this, it still is a great script and I suggest giving it a try today.

Set fixed or regular alerts with Reminder+

Messenger Plus! used to have the ability to manage a calendar and set reminders for yourself at regular intervals. However, the release of Messenger Plus! Live discontinued the feature, it wasn't that popular, but that hasn't stopped demand for it.

Today I installed Reminder+, a simple yet very effective script for Messenger Plus! Live. It's easy to use and very customisable. You can set the script to remind you of something every X amount of minutes, keep a log of birthdays and set one off reminders. I find Reminder+ very professional and it matches what I need. I suggest giving it a try.

Status Icon: A small script for Messenger Plus! Live
Posted by absorbation on Sun 10 Jun 2007 (17:14 GMT) (3487 views)
I don't really talk about scripts for Messenger Plus! Live, mainly because there is a huge amount of them, all with different classes of programming. However yesterday I came across a wonderful, clean and simple script called 'Status Icon' which I feel like I must post about.

The script basically changes the icon for Windows Live Messenger and conversations in the taskbar based on multiple variables, such as your contact's status. It does the job perfectly, and I find it a nice small feature for Messenger. Of course you can already do this with StuffPlug 3, but that currently does not work properly with the new 8.5 beta.

I suggest trying Status Icon today, it may be small but I believe it makes a huge difference to using Messenger.

Web2Live, a replacement for Web2Messenger?
Posted by anileator on Tue 01 May 2007 (12:39 GMT) (3673 views)
NanaFreak and Markee (of MsgHelp Forums) heard the other day about Web2Messenger not being revived and realised how disappointed a lot of people were going to be because of this. So as a bit of a resolution to this problem they have decided to start work on something similar (using a script rather than a bot, which will be talked about on their FAQ page eventually). Now they didn't want to give too much away, but it is going to be run differently and probably won't look the same either.

Markee says:

So far things are going good with the coding, the hardest part is getting NanaFreak to stop playing Counter Strike: Source and to help out with the work on this.

Anyway, back on topic.... so we have talked to a few different people on the forum about different things to do with this and we should be fairly well set we think, with one exception.... we need a design for the site. We decided to run a little competition where we select what we feel to be the best and most appropriate. Anyone with designing skills are invited to join in and (if the admins allow for this) post a suggested screen shot of what it would look like (no need to code any CSS, just draw a picture will be fine... and nothing done in paint with just the black pen, OK!).

As for the prize for winning we will allow the person to join in our testing if they wish (or pass the invitation on to someone else of their choosing if they so desire).

We will be giving more details about the testing schedule and features later, we don't see this as being a small project and we want a solid base before releasing this publicly. I hope everyone is excited as us about this whole thing.

PS. The name we have chosen (for the time being at least) is Web2Live, but we weren't sure if that was too close to Web2Messenger.... If you have a better suggestion then go ahead and tell us, it is greatly appreciated.

We at Messenger Stuff wish them the best with development and promise to keep you updated on any progress made.
