One year on, what's going on? ...

A year ago on this very day saw the official launch of this Messenger Stuff. Since then there has been un-countable changes to it, stuff that I can't even remember and although this has been fast year for me, msgstuff.com has come along one small step at a time. The past of the website has been basic and now it is rather modern and well coded but there is still a future.

I have been recently busy with exams and generally school and social life. It hasn't left me much time to work on here and post as much news, but thanks to new admins like the andyman you shouldn't have noticed anything and in fact saw a post quality up rise. In this time there was a silent update to version 1.5, but making a post about it seemed useless as the changes were constantly being uploaded.

Now I am working on a new version, 1.6, which should come with a new design (about time) and new features as well as improvements on current ones. The change will not be bit by bit but uploaded all within one hour or something and the changes you will see will be amazing, I can assure that. Right now it is in secret development but soon I will show you exactly what has changed. With the release of 1.6 should come a nice competition for you guys so keep your eyes pleased for that.

Anyway, now after one whole year and so much changing, the website has become really popular and the future just looks more positive. I would like to thank all my regular visitors and news readers as well as my admins who have provided so much to msgstuff.com.

Community Forums attacked

As some of you may have noticed, the community forums were hacked earlier today. They were hacked by a scriptkiddie who used a MyBB exploit to get his way inside. The board is now closed, and we are waiting on the main administrator (absorbation) to take a final decision what to do with the situation. I was personally able to get the forum back to a forum, but I put the board to offline untill absorbation decides what to do.

Sorry for the inconvenience this may cause.

Update (by absorbation):
Thanks to our wonderful host, dreamhost, I fixed the forums within seconds using a backup from a hour before the attack. Everything is back to normal now and the forums have been upgraded to fix the sercuity issue. The hacker's time really went to waste, I fixed the forums quicker than he could destroy them.

What's going on with msgstuff.com?

So you may have noticed some changes here the last couple of days. Well it is all part of upgrading to 1.5, which should hopefully be here within the next few weeks. The new layout was done because thanks to your survey results you told me the site was rather hard to navigate; hopefully this issue has been fixed. The new layout may suite your needs more, there is a lot more room for sure, but you may dislike it. Please tell me your options via the contact page.

So, what is coming up? Well I have to make the new custom content script, which should mean a lot more display pictures etc should come soon as well as various improvements to the website and news. I also hope to have a few fun scripts up and running and allow my admins to work on the website more. When this is done, there is a load less of work to do for me and you should see news posts more frequency and more and more custom content everyday. Thanks to all of you for making msgstuff.com possible.

New news system

You may have noticed the news system has been on and off this week with posts disappearing everywhere. Well this is due to our new news system, coded by myself so things are more secure and the news loads a whopping 15 times faster. In this process, we see it is pointless to convert all the old posts so I have decided to make fresh start on the new system. I will be adding news more frequently with better details and more sources; we will have exclusives as well as dishing out all the little news about MSN and Windows Live Messenger. Sorry for an inconvenience this week.
