What is Messenger Plus! Live?

Messenger Plus! Live is an add-on for Windows Live Messenger that adds features such as tabbed chatting, custom sounds, scripts for Messenger and of course skins! The add-on is used by millions of users worldwide and is a must have for Windows Live Messenger. If you don't already have it I suggest checking out the official website.

What are Messenger Plus! Live skins?

They are pretty much the same as normal skins. They don't vary too much from current skinning methods, but they use what syntax Plus! provides to easily replace resources, add extra options and make skinning easier and quicker. Messenger Plus! does not have any limitations to skinning, in fact it removes older ones thus meaning creating skins for Windows Live Messenger has never had some many possibilities.

How can I learn how to skin?

This is easy. All the information you need is in the skinning documentation, which you can locate within the program itself. This will guide you through all the knowledge you need to skin. During beta testing people with no previous experience were producing good and unique skins. This shows you can create good skins too, no matter what knowledge of skins you have.

Nevertheless there are many more resources out there that can help. Here is a list of useful links that will guide you through skinning:

Where can I find extra help?

The skinning community is rather small at the moment but Messenger Plus! skinning looks set to expand that. I suggest checking out the Messenger Plus! community forums where members with expert knowledge can help you. Try looking in the skinning forum for any interesting tutorials posted. You can also post at our community forums where we have a large amount of official testers for the program waiting to answer any queries you may have.
